|Oh, isn't it beautiful?|
Depending on which site you visit, Dark Secret Love is either available now, or it will be for sale on October 15th, or possibly the 11th. There are either three copies left, or thirteen in stock. It's like magic! But just in case the book is actually out now, I thought I'd give it a little plug.
If you buy the book, and you like what I've created, please help me spread the word on Amazon or Goodreads or your blog. If you review Dark Secret Love, let me know, and I will link to you. This is the book I've been wanting to create since I first started writing. I am in love with the cover, the design, the very font of it. (Did you just sing that in your head to the tune of 'The Very Thought of You,' or was that only me?)
In other news, I've almost finished my 50th book for Cleis Press. Yes. 50. Can you believe it? I'm dead chuffed, I am. The collection needs one more spell-check, and then I'm hitting send. And passing out. The anthology is filled with fantasies. My story is called "All Things to All Women." I'll post an excerpt shortly.
Finally, I wanted to pause her to remember the College T.A. who told me to give up any goals I had as a writer. She was unhappy with me (that's putting it mildly) because I never wrote topic sentences. I wrote leads. In fact, I remember the one I wrote for a compare/contrast essay: "Night and day, black and white, and Brigitte Nielsen's bust size before and after surgery have more in common than..." Why am I thinking back to her? Because every book I finish, every word I type, every note I scribble on a piece of junk mail, is in some way a response to that T.A. who advised me at eighteen in her snarky little way to give up the one thing that keeps me sane.
Or as sane as I'm going to be.
